Page Content Management

Now that you've added a page, it is time to edit it. 
Click on the page title from the Web Builder screen to open the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. This tool allows non technical users to create and author website content. It works much like Microsoft Word and is quite powerful and easy to use once you're familiar with it.

First, get acquaintant with the buttons in the editor area. Place your mouse over a button to see a short description of what that button does. 
Below are the most commonly used buttons:

Text Align Buttons

 
These buttons allow you to align the text or other items on a page. Select a portion of text and use one of these buttons to align text to the Left, Right, Center, or Justify.

Text Style Buttons


These buttons allow you to change the text appearance by making it Bold, Italic or Underline. Select a portion of a text and use one of these buttons to change it.

 

Link & Anchor Buttons 


These buttons allow you to create a link or an anchor. Select a portion of text and use one of these buttons to create either a link to another page, website, or a file. If you wish to create a link to another page, simply type or copy and paste the URL from the Address bar of your web browser to the page you desire.

Ex. Link Dialog

When creating a link, you can also use the TARGET option
to specify how you would like the link to open.
Ex. you can choose to have that link open in a new window when someone clicks on it.
Ex. Anchor Dialog

You may also create an anchor, which is a shortcut marker.
For example, if you wish to create a link to a specific paragraph on a given website page, you must use the anchor.
Ex. http://www.blah.com/webpage.html#test_anchor.

  

Insert Object Buttons


These buttons allow you to insert different objects into your webpage such as images, flash animations, tables, etc. To insert an image, simply place the cursor in the place where you want an image and click the Insert / Edit image button.

Ex. Insert / Edit Image Dialog

You can either provide a url of an image or use the Browse Server button to
browse for and / or upload an image.
Upload tab is a shortcut to upload an image

Ex. Insert / Edit Flash Dialog

You can either provide a url of flash or use the Browse Server button to
browse for and / or upload a flash file.

 

Ex. Insert / Edit Table Dialog

Tables are great for organizing your document.
Simply provide the number of Rows and Columns and specify the Width of your future table

 

Text Format Button


This is an important control and it must be used to create professional documents. HEADINGS are very important features of this control. Use them to properly structure your document. 
Ex. Suggested document structure:

  1. Heading 1 (your most important statement and / or page title)
    [ Text Paragraph(s) ]

  2. Heading 2 (your 2nd most important statement and / or document section)
    [ Text Paragraph(s) ]

  3. Heading 3 (your 3rd most important statement and / or document section)
    [ Text Paragraph(s) ]

This format not only gives your documents professional look and feel , it also influences how search engines read your document. For example, the Heading 1 text will have more 'weight' for a search engine.

Text Font & Color, Size Buttons


These buttons allow you to control the text appearance on the document. Simply select a portion of text and use one of these controls to change it's appearance.

Text List and Indentation - These buttons allow you to create lists of items or indent portions of a document. Simply select a portion of text and use one of these controls to create a list or an indented portion
There are 2 types of lists you can create, Ordered List and Unordered List


Ordered List Example:

  1. Item One
  2. Item Two
  3. Item Three

Unordered List Example:

  • Item One
  • Item Two
  • Item Three

Typing Must-Know

You must always keep in mind that:

  • Pressing the ENTER key creates a NEW PARAGRAPH. 
  • Pressing SHIFT+ENTER creates a NEW LINE
